The Little Red Dress

The Little Red Dress

We use the phrase Little Black Dress to refer to the versatility of the black dress. But, what about the little red dress? The red dress is as versatile as the black dress. The key is to find a shade of red that works for you.

Warm reds have a yellow undertone, so they are perfect for ladies who look better in browns, golds, and cream. The cool reds have a blue undertone, so they are perfect for ladies who look better in blues, greens, and bright white.

A quick way to find out if your skin tone is cool or warm is to study the veins on your wrist. Veins that look blue means you likely have cool undertones. If the veins are somewhat greenish, you likely have warm undertones.

My recent purchase of the little red dress was just after Christmas when I found a Liz Claiborne dress on clearance. The fit was perfect, so I bought it. I knew I could dress it up or down to create some fun outfits.

I like the cap sleeves and high neckline. In this look, I went for classic. I simply added a pearl necklace and black heels.

I went a little edgy, but still classix. I added a moto jacket and neutral shoes.

Adding a belt and a leopard print blouse gave my dress a casual look.

And of course, how about some booties with a jean jacket and belt?

As you can see, the little red dress is perfect to dress up or dress casual. The versatility for outfits is endless.

Have a lovely day!
