Black and White; Long and Lean

Black and White; Long and Lean

My numbers have been climbing lately. When I speak of numbers, I'm referring to my blood sugar and my weight.

We all know that our numbers are important to our health, especially as we age. After all, we want to feel and look our best.
I've gained weight in the past year, ugh. My blood sugar went from 110 in the morning to 140, as well. When my numbers are not where I want them to be, I'm sluggish, tired, and I just don't feel good about myself.

I like being in control of my health, so a week ago, I decided to do something about my numbers. If I can get my weight under control through healthy eating, my blood sugar goes down.

In a week, I've dropped my blood sugar to 115 just by eating less and better. I know that dropping the added pounds will take close to a month of eating better and then I need to maintain that weight.

Besides controlling the numbers, feeling good about how we look helps us as we age. It builds confidence. I spend quite a bit of time showing you outfits because I'm a firm believer that when you like how you look, you naturally feel better and smile more.

So today, I share an outfit that is fun. It will make you feel confident, and will put a smile on your face. It all starts with black and white, an easy combination for great ideas.

My outfit begins with a new sun hat I purchased recently. It's black and white. That was my inspiration. I also wanted to look thinner, so I needed the illusion of length.

I chose to wear a black top from Chico's. You can see it here. I upsized for this top, so it would not cling.

My jeggings are from Walmart. Long pants will help you create a taller appearance. And, flare jeans are back. Here comes the 70s again!

I chose white sandals to make my legs look even longer.

My scarf and necklace are long to enhance the long and lean look.

I love my fun outfit. It makes me smile. Now, to loose the weight and continue to improve my numbers :)

Have a wonderful day, and please, watch your numbers!
