Simple Summer Outfit

That's right. The temperatures, they are arising. Friday, reached the high 90s and continued throughout the weekend. When it's this hot, I'm in shorts, tank tops and sandals. However, when we go out to eat, I may bring my outfit up a notch. I still want to be comfortable, though.

There's nothing like a blend of cotton and linen in a loose pair of crops. Top it off with a sleeveless shell, and I'm ready to go. It's rare that I wear sleeveless without a cover up, but sometimes it's just too hot.

I love white in the summer heat. It just makes me feel cool. The loose crops are airy and comfortable. To dress them up a bit, I added a loose layered white shell (you see this on me way too often) from Chico's and some stacked heels. I could wear flat sandals, as well. The stacked heel gives me a little more height since the bottoms are short.

Because I'm dressed in white, I added a long necklace with gold to complement the white and beige shoes. I didn't put a purse in this pic, but I'd use a light tan or brown purse.

Wearing loose pants can make you look frumpy. But you can pull it off. Choose a slightly loose top, but make sure it stops just below your tummy.

I know that a snug top or short top is best with loose bottoms, but I have a thick waist and a large bust line.  Now, if I had on a jacket, I might wear a snug fitting top. Remember, this outfit is for hot, hot, hot weather. We want to be comfortable but feel put together.

I hope the weather is heating up for you and the snow is finally gone! After all, this is the first day of May, time for May baskets :)
