Simple Pleasures

For the past week, we've had construction workers in our lanai working on the pool. So it's been noisy and busy, especially with our Lulu and Charlie, who just love to bark at buzzing, pounding, and all the talking outside the sliding glass doors.

Because of all the activity, we've stayed at home, and I had to revert to the inside of the house for any of my picture taking. But Thursday afternoon, Jack and I caught a break from all the bustle and headed out on the Harley.

It was a fabulous day. Temperatures in the 80s, a light breeze, and little humidity. We cruised around the adjoining neighborhoods and ended up at our favorite tiki bar, Seagrass Resort. We ate burgers and chicken fingers while watching the people boating on the quiet river water.

Just as we were commenting on whether the boaters were in kayaks or paddle boats, a visitor came strolling by our table.

Blue, the blue heron, is one of the locals who visits the tiki bar often. He's quite a character and likes to show off.

You can't help but smile and even laugh at his antics. Blue herons move slowly, and Blue was true to his word. He moved around the tables with long steps and strutted his stuff.

We left the tiki bar with smiles and headed back to our home. It was a pleasant day of simple pleasures. Sometimes, that's all we need.

Have a wonderful Easter. Whether you are celebrating the birth of Christ or the renewal of spring, enjoy the day and pause to take in the simple pleasures life offers.

Thank you for visiting my blog - pneumonia has had me out of commission for a few weeks but today is better.
Your blog is wonderful and very enjoyable. I am following you and would be delighted to have you follow me. There just does not seem like there are a lot of blogs that speak to our age group (I'm 63).
It is nice to meet you and have a wonderful week - Mimi

Thank you for the kind words. I hope you're on the road to recovery. I just clicked the Follow button on your blog and look forward to reading more of your entries.

You're right. There's little out there for us. I will be 65 in May, so I decided to reinvent my old blog with some light articles on fashion, health, and emotional well being.

It's fun to reach out.
