Distressed Jeans or Not?

There's nothing like relaxing. My pooch, Charlie, can vouch for that! When I'm at home, I'm either in shorts and sandals, or I may be wearing my torn jeans. In today's fashion world, they are called distressed jeans.

Because we Baby Boomers grew up loving our jeans, we have a special connection to denim. After all, we wore bell bottoms, embroidered jeans, and when we couldn't find what we wanted, we ventured into the men's department and bought their jeans.

Now, as we are aging, we may wonder if we can still get away with those distressed looking clothes. Should we wear only tailored pants or dark jeans that are dressier looking?

I've always said, wear what you are comfortable wearing. If you feel better in more tailored denim, by all means, wear them. If you love your comfy tattered jeans, wear them.

I love my torn jeans. Around the house, I will probably have on a tee with my denim. Out in public, I up the ante and pick tops that are dressier to go with my faithful pants.

In this picture, I'm wearing my favorite jeans with a tank top and sandals. But, I added a jacket and a necklace to dress up the look.

In this picture, I added one of my Etsy kimonos and a necklace to dress it up. You can see the kimono here.

And sometimes, all you need is a black tee with some fun jewelry.

Have a great day, and get out those old jeans, grab a book, and relax!
