Watching the NumbersI follow a number of women bloggers who are in my age range because I learn so much from them, and I can relate. Often these bloggers talk about health issues and the aging process. It's encouraging to hear how they tackle their problems with resilience and confidence.
I had mentioned before that I have Type 2 Diabetes, so I'm constantly watching my blood sugar. However, a month ago, the numbers got slightly out of control, and I knew I had to take action. It was time to tackle the problem of rising blood sugar and weight.
My decision was to change my eating habits. It was time to get away from the French fries, fast food, and sugar. I am reporting today that in less than a month, my blood sugar has dropped from 140 after fasting to 90. I've also lost the weight I gained.
I feel much better.

The other day, Pauline Durban, founder of Covered Perfectly, put a comment on Facebook about wearing the royal blue color in her line of tops instead of wearing black, as she often does. I had just purchased her simple comfort top in royal blue, so the post resonated with me.
The Covered Perfectly simple comfort top is available in a beautiful shade of blue that will brighten up your day. Not only is the color pleasing, the MicroModal material is as soft feeling as a worn T-shirt.
Today, my post is about that top and three outfits I created for it. But first, a little about the clothing item.
The top comes in an array of colors, so if blue isn't for you, I'm sure you can find a color that will appeal to you such as coral, navy, teal, or violet, as well as black and white.  Because the top runs a little on the snug side, size up. The Power of Jewelry
Whether I'm going out to dinner or running to the store for groceries, I always remember to add a necklace, earrings, or bracelet.
It's amazing how often people will focus on a necklace and begin a conversation. I've discovered this while at the deli in Publix grocery store or checking out at Walmart. Jewelry is such a great accessory and conversation starter.
Recently, I was at a Trim Happy Mama meeting and a lady complemented me on my necklace. I told her I purchased it at Beall's clothing and loved how it popped with even my tees. She admired it, but said she never takes the time to wear jewelry. It was sad because she had on a lovely top that would have shone with a  necklace of the same color.
I'm so convinced that jewelry is a powerhouse that I convinced my sister to add more of her hand made pieces to Daisy Street Boutique. Below are a few of her necklaces:
