Fall Dressing in Warm Weather


I adore fall with its cool weather, colorful leaves, toasty sweaters, and short booties. Unfortunately, I rarely have a chance to wear the sweaters and booties; the leaves aren't brilliant colors, and the weather change is subtle here in the South. Our fall means lower humidity but temperatures in the 80s.

So I try to find outfits that feel like fall, but are comfortable for a warm day.

I love the fall look of jeans and a blazer, especially when you add a cute T-shirt with it. Since it's too warm right now for that fall look, I created something similar using a Harley Davidson tank top and a Chico's short kimono. Add my Old Navy worn out jeans, and I have a look for a warm day in the fall.


Kimonos and scarf wraps are a great fall accessory, too, when the weather just won't cooperate.

As you know, my sister and I make scarf wraps. We just finished one and posted it on Etsy. It has the true fall colors of browns and yellows, so perfect for a warm day. To show the versatility of the scarf vest, I paired it with white pants and a white tank top. I added a pair of bronze sandals to complete the look.

Another choice for warm days is a pair of Tencel pants. I bought these dark sage green pants from Chico's. They are a final sale, so no returns. I should have sized down because they do run large. You can see them here. The white T-shirt is one I've had for awhile, but it's a soft and light material, perfect for warm weather.


Cool weather will arrive soon for most of you. I still have to wait awhile. You can, however, still wear fall looking clothes with a little ingenuity.
