Creating an Outfit

The other day, I had some errands to run and the morning was cool. I wanted something casual, in layers, and a touch of spring color.

Here's what I did. I started with my Chico Girlfriend jeans. I love these jeans because they sit higher on my waist and the material is not heavy. I then added my white Chico shell because it goes with everything. Next, I brought out a light cardigan in purple to celebrate spring.

For a pop of color I added my new silk scarf. It has some purple in it which matches my cardigan. Because we were going to be walking a lot, I chose my Sketcher ballet flats for comfort, and they have a cap toe with a touch of purple. I used my basic black purse. It has a long, thin handle, so I can cross it over my body to keep my hands free for shopping.

By afternoon, I took off the cardigan and the scarf because temperatures rose to the 70s. Dressing in layers in the spring makes sense because temperatures tend to climb in the afternoon, but can be cool in the morning. I like to wear shells and add a cardigan or poncho. Jeans are always a functional choice, and if you're walking a lot, consider a nice flat. I love my Sketchers On-the-Go. I bought mine at Beall's.

Even though I was dressed in jeans, adding the details made me feel good about how I looked.

Have a wonderful "put together" day!
